車の暖房時A/Cスイッチは？

寒い朝や夜は車に乗る際に暖房を使用する際、

暖房をつける機会が増えます。

少しでも燃費を良くするため、工夫することが

ないか調べてみました。

車の暖房はエンジンの熱を利用しています。

エンジンが稼働すると冷却水が熱を帯び、その熱を

車内へ送りこみ暖かい空気を作り出します。

つまり暖房自体は追加で燃料を使うわけではなく、

エンジンの余熱を活用しています。

一方A/Cスイッチはコンプレッサーを動かして

冷媒を圧縮・循環させ、空気中の水分を除去することで

除湿や冷却を行う装置です。

A/Cスイッチをオンにすることでコンプレッサーが

作動する分、燃費は１％から２％程度悪化します。

冬場、車内のガラス曇り取りにはA/Cの除湿が

有効ですので適宜利用することが望ましいです。

I looked into whether there are any ways to improve fuel efficiency, even just a little.

A car’s heater uses the engine’s heat.

When the engine is running, the coolant absorbs heat, which is then sent into the car to produce warm air.

In other words, the heater itself does not consume additional fuel but makes use of the engine’s waste heat.

On the other hand, the A/C switch operates the compressor, which compresses and circulates the refrigerant, removing moisture from the air to provide dehumidification and cooling.

Turning on the A/C switch causes the compressor to work, which can worsen fuel efficiency by about 1% to 2%.

In winter, using the A/C dehumidification function is effective for removing fog from the car windows, so it is advisable to use it as needed.
